Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn't think they'd survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they're right back to fighting for their lives. Double-crossed and left crippled by the kidnapping of a valuable team member, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz's cunning and test the team's fragile loyalties. A war will be waged on the city's dark and twisting streets―a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of magic in the Grisha world.
“I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”
My heart. My poor small heart. Oh my this is just as amazing as Six of Crows. Crooked Kingdom literally made me not breathe. I read this beauty in school and you do not know how hard I tried not crying in school because of it. I don’t know how it did but this book made me love the character so much more than I already did especially Inej. Now before I really start I would like to say to the people who have not yet read Crooked Kingdom nor have they read Six of Crows that I SHUN YOU until you do. Leigh Bardugo enjoys people’s pain this book just proves that.
The characters is the reason that this book gets so much attention. It isn’t only the amazing plot or the writing but the characters. Kaz is not an open book and one of the meanest most stubborn characters that I have ever read about…but why in the living skittles would he be my favorite character *shrugs* he just does it. He can literally make any reader weak in the knees.
Jesper is my second favorite character and he is the second most meanest and stubborn characters in this book. Ugh why does this happen to me? The relationship between Wylan and Jasper…dear help me poor heart and make it beat again. Just thinking about these two puts a smile on my face and I just wish I could read some fanfiction about them this instant.
Nina is a bossass biotech. I read @twirlingpages post about characters who can most likely make it as president and I completely agree with her when it comes to Nina (and having Inej as her VP) Their friendship is something that I really enjoyed whilst reading this book. It reminded me of a Clary/Izzy relationship and it just brought me back to those good times.
As for the ships in general. THEY SAILLLLLL NOT SAILLL I DO NOT CARE THEY ARE FREAKING PERFECT AND THEY MAKE MY HEART HURT AND THAT IS SOMETHING!
Now this review is literally the smallest review I can ever do for this book. I did not want to spoil anything for the virgins of Six of Crows BUT there is one review by this amazing reviewer that I thought was a perfect resemblance of my feelings towards this book 🙂 LINKY LINK
I seriously cannot believe this is over. Just the thought of not being able to read more about these amazing characters bring tears to my eyes. I beg all of you who are indeed virgins of this series to read it. Some may think that you’d have to read Leigh’s other series but I didn’t and I still read Six of Crows. SO please please pleaseeeeeee READ THIS BOOK!
