So this little bookish awards thing was a idea from Alexandra @ Twirling Pages (one of my all time favorite blogs 😉 ) This is just a overview of some of the BEST books that I have
read this year WHICH MEANS I won’t be including ARC’s for 2016. Only books that have either been published this year or previous years. To make sure I don’t cheat with this post, I can only use one series/book per category. I’m trying to make this hard for you decision making Gabi! And without further introduction here is..
THE BEST OF THE BEST!
the start of something new: favorite first in a series
Now earlier this year I read the amazing series called The Archived
by Victoria Schwab. Heard of it? 😉 THIS ENTIRE SERIES ITSELF is a amazing fantabulous ride but the OG one would have to be my favorite of the…three? WHEN ARE WE GOING TO KNOW IF THERE REALLY IS A THIRD BOOK COMING OUT?!
following through: favorite sequel or part of a series.
Now this would have to be the hardest question that I had to answer but I NEEDED to say my beloved Cress by Marissa Meyer. Cress is by far my absolute favorite out of the Lunar Chronicles series, but Winter is not that far. Cress and Thorne made this book the winner. A BIG APPLAUSE TO THIS AMAZING OTP! Cress was outstanding beyond comparison and the words just made this all wrap up together with a bow. The only reason that I wouldn’t say that Winter is my favorite is because Cress is surrounding the story that is Cress and Thorne. Do I need any further explanation? Yeah I though not.
finest finale: favorite conclusion
Now I COMPLETELY forgot about this wonderful series before doing this tag and for that I need to apologize a billion times
because it is a great series. For this one I am going to have to go with End of Days by Susan Ee the third and final book to the Penryn and the End of Days series.
single and proud: favorite standalone
Now I am ashamed to say that I have never read any of Stephanie Perkins’ books before this year BUT this means that I get to include this wonderful series in this tag. Now I don’t consider this “series” to be an actual series so I am just going to use…ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS! By far my favorite. This book was just so romantic and hilarious and overall just plain relatable. The relationships were so shippable and yeah…I really don’t have anything else to say.
new to the crew: favorite debut
Please welcome the amazing fantasy by Sabaa Tahir AN EMBER IN THE ASHES! This book…this book. Was beyond my expectations. I was surprised with my feeling towards this book. I knew it was going to be good but I didn’t know it was going to be THIS GOOD! Elias is just *heart warms* The world is just *shivers* The story itself is *fangirls*
cover porn: favorite cover
I had to have a tie for this one. I couldn’t pick between Illuminae and Queen of Shadows. SUCH BEAUTIFUL COVERS PEOPLE! These covers made me literally stop reading and just admire them. Wondering where in the heck can I get the dress that is shown in the Queen of Shadows cover. I would risk being Aelin if I were a part of this cover. These cover artists could literally sell these beautiful pieces of artworks in museums or something. I would by me some of these covers. BOW DOWN TO THE CPVER ARTISTS JUST BOW THE EFF DOWN!
lionheart: favorite protagonist
How can I not pick anyone else other than Cara from Alienated. Cara was the one that amde these amazing book more amazing than it already is…well Aelyx also took part of making this series what it is. She is one of the most sarcastic and humorous characters that I have ever read from and that is exactly why I love her to bits. She reminds me of a character that you find in a Wattpad story and y’all already know I love my Wattpad stories.
dream team: favorite friendship
THE MAGNUS CHASE GANG FOR THE WIN! I MEAN HOW COULD I BETRAY THIS AWESOME KICK ASS GROUP BY NOT MENTIONING THEM IN THIS CATEGORY! THIS SHOULD BE A LAW! MAGNUS CHASE WINS! OKAY TAKE MY MONEY NOT MY BOOKS AND JUST ACCEPT THE FACT THAT MAGNUS CHASE HAS THE BEST FRIENDSHIP GOALS EVER!
ship ship ship: favorite romantic relationship
*sigh* I have read another Jennifer L. Armentrout series this year, and I absolutely freaking loved it. Roth and Layla. can we just take a moment to appreciate the couple that is them. they are by far one of my all time favorite OTPs in the world and I wouldn’t have it any other way. the love triangle in this book just made me root even harder for this ship and guess what THEY ARE OTP SO DEAL!
standing ovation: favorite books of the year
This question has been asked to me more than a million times this year, and my answer is always the same. This book expanded my fantasy book genre and again THE SHIPS! ACOTAR by Sarah J. Mass. Do you wanna fight me? I HAVE A MAGNUS CHASE SHEILD! But anyways Rhysand is endgame so can we just move on and accept this FACT!
