Hello fellow book nerdigans! Me and Deanna are coming to you with a book tag! Today we’re doing the Disney Princess Book Tag. Personally as a Gabi LOVE Disney movies and I am so glad that I got tagged to do this tag! Basically in this tag there is a whole bunch of Disney Princesses and they all mean different things so I have to find a book that most connects with that certain princess. So thank you Kaitlin for tagging us to do this tag! So me and Deanna are going to alternate in answers. I’m going to be the first answer and then Deanna!
*I haven’t actually ever read a classic…*hides behind bush* I know I know I haven’t read good literature until I’ve read a classic blah blah blah. I will read it people! I know for a fact that my first classic that I WILL read is The Scarlet Letter. Now I have read Fahrenheit 451 but I really didn’t like that book so…NEXT QUESTION!
*I’m not sure if this is a classic because it’s from the 1960s, but THE BELL JAR! I love Sylvia Plath and I find The Bell Jar fascinating. I did a research paper on it in 9th grade English class and that paper was my pride and joy.
*I feel like this book will be said in EVERY…SINGLE…BOOK…TAG…THAT I WILL EVER DO! Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. QUEEN! I’ve read this book more than 5 times already and each time I read I stay up WAYYYYY past my bedtime. I know whats going to happen! I know exactly what happens in the end of the series! But I still go through that emotional ride that I went through the first time I read it.
*The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer series. OH MAN THIS SERIES SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME THE FIRST TIME I READ IT. I stayed up waaaaay past my bed time. This book kept me tossing and turning. One second I was laughing, one second I was swooning, one second I was crying, one second I was scared shitless shivering. This is such a good series and I highly recommend it! (Advice: when you have to wake up at 5:30 AM for the glory that is high school, don’t stay up until 2:00 AM. 10/10 WOULD NOT ADVISE.)
*To be honest I never really thought what my favorite romance is. I think this is the first time I actually though of it. And its hard. I read many many amazing romance books and its hard to pick my favorite one. But I think I am going to go with one of my newer favorites which is Anna and the French Kiss. Yes NEW favorite. I just read it this Summer. Don’t judge.
*I’m gonna copy Gabi a little and say Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. Isla and Josh are flawed, real, beautiful, and SO IN LOVE. I want a relationship like theirs. Also, anyone who knows me well knows that Josh is my #1 BOOK BOYFRIEND.
*There is a lot of books that are about fighting for what you believe in so this was a pretty darn hard question for me to answer. But I think that I am going to go with good ol Tris from Divergent.I mean basically the entire series is about her fighting herself and fighting for what she believes in. And she has made a WHOLE BUNCH of sacrifices throughout this entire series just to see her loved ones happy.
*A Mad, Wicked Folly by Sharon Biggs Waller! Vicky sacrifices her freedom, her love life, her passion, and her future to pursue her dream of being an artist. Marrying a rich guy that you hate so you can go to art school rather than being with the HOT police man/writer and scrapping by? That’s dedication. Don’t worry, it all works out for Vicky in the end.
*Again VERY hard question to think about. Because basically every single female character that I know and love are independent and smart. But for this one I am going to have to go with Celeana Sardothien 😉 I mean SHE BASICALLY IS THE MOST INDEPENDENT GIRL THERE IS! She slays the entire universe people! She is one of the most smart cunning female characters that I have ever read about so OF COURSE this one goes to her.
*Reagan from Open Road Summer by Emory Lord. She is witty, sarcastic, smart and hella independent. She puts off her inevitable romance with Matt and pushes him away from the very beginning because of her history with guys. She goes with an entire school year with NO FRIENDS AT SCHOOL. I don’t know how Reagan did it. I went through 8th grade with no friends and I was pretty miserable. Reagan is extremely strong-willed and doesn’t let anything stop her.
*Ummmmm…ALL OF THESE ARE SO HARD! I think I might have to go for a dystopian on this one…*scans through bookshelf* KATNISS EVERDEEN! WELL DUH! I mean she is the OG young adult girl that challenged the social issues. She is BASICALLY already Jasmine.
*Aaron from More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. He opposed the memory alteration procedure and challenged it.
*The Evolution of Mara Dyer. For the people who have read this CAN I GET A AMEN! That ending! One of the most emotional heartbreaking cliffhanging endings that I have EVER read. I don’t want to spoil it for the people who haven’t read it but if I were to give advice to all of you I would say to READ THIS DARN BOOK!
*Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma. I’m not going to talk about it, but if you’ve read it, you know what I’m talking about.
*Now we all know there are plenty of *does jump kick* kick-ass characters in YA books. BUT there is one that really stands out for me and that is the GREAT Ruby from The Darkest Minds! I mean she is btoh kick-ass mentally and physically. Well…a little mentally but you get the idea!
*CELAENA FRICKING SARDOTHIEN. ‘Nuff said.
*Clary Fray. First person that comes to mind. Yes there is a lot of painters in these beloved books of outs but Clary Fray is the first person that comes to mind. She is one amazing ARTIST!
*Gretchen in Fly on the Wall by E. Lockhart. THIS BOOK IS SO UNDERRATED. It’s hilarious! Go read it!
*EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING BY NICOLA YOON! PEOPLE IF YIU HAVEN’T READ THIS BEAUTIFUL AMAZING LOVELY BOOK THEN DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND READ THIS WONDERFUL AWESOME BOOK. ITS SWEET AND TRAGIC AND HEART WARMING AND OH MY GOSH ALLLLL THE EMOTIONS!
*If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch. This is another underrated book that made me feel all kinds of things. The mother-daughter relationship in this book is INTENSE.
*Again for me I am going to have to go with MARA FREAKING DYER! The Dyer siblings are one of the most funniest caring siblings that I as a Gabi has ever read about! There relationship between those three is just so heartwarming and amazing to read and I just LOVE!
*Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver. This entire book is centered around these two sisters and their relationship. I worship Lauren Oliver. She can do no wrong for me!
NOW WE SHALL TAG!!
